Security Engineer - SOAR

About the role

Centorrino Technologies is seeking a Security Engineer specialized in Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) to join its Cyber team in Australia. The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining SOAR playbooks and automation workflows to improve incident response efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Drive creation and continuous refinement of SOAR methodologies, intellectual property and supporting collateral.
• Design, develop, and maintain SOAR playbooks and automation workflows.
• Research and recommend automation opportunities across security operations to reduce operational overhead.
• Optimize detection rules and use‑case logic across security tools, especially SOAR, to minimize false positives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to configure and fine‑tune security tools for peak performance.
• Advise, design, build, and implement secure cloud/hybrid solutions compliant with ACSC requirements for PROTECTED implementations.
• Ensure alignment with Australian government frameworks such as PSPF and ISM.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation on security procedures and configuration baselines.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cybersecurity engineering covering infrastructure, network, endpoint and cloud security.
• Strong consulting and engagement experience with the ability to represent cyber security viewpoints.
• Recent experience with security design, architecture, and implementation for Microsoft cloud services.
• Familiarity with Australian cyber regulation and compliance standards (Essential Eight, SOCI, NIST, ISM).
• Australian citizenship and an active NV1 security clearance are highly regarded.

Required skills

• Implementation of SOAR platforms (FortiSOAR preferred).
• Cloud and hybrid security solutions.
• Application of the ACSC Information Security Manual (ISM) to cloud or hybrid environments.
• Knowledge of Australian cyber regulation standards (Essential Eight, SOCI, NIST).
• Integration of security into the DevOps lifecycle.
