Security Engineer – Cryptography & Key Management

About the role

The Cryptography Management Squad at ANZ is responsible for secure handling of cryptographic keys and hardware security modules (HSMs). As a Security Engineer you will support the design, build, testing and deployment of cryptographic services that protect sensitive data and enable secure transaction processing.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of cryptographic keys and digital certificates globally.
• Provide cryptographic guidance and consultation to technology and business partners.
• Implement, debug and maintain HSM platforms across multiple regions.
• Support internal and external auditors on key‑management operations.
• Conduct key ceremonies and secure key exchanges with external parties.
• Maintain the global cryptographic key and custodian register.
• Continuously improve cryptographic processes, procedures and operational documentation.
• Stay up‑to‑date with industry trends in cryptography and related product development.

• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail in security operations.
