Secondary Teacher (Maths Methods and Physics)

About the role

Holy Spirit College, a Catholic co-educational secondary school in Fitzgibbon, North Brisbane, is recruiting a full-time continuing teacher to teach Maths Methods and Physics. The college opened in January 2022 with Year 7 students and adds one year level each year until Year 12. The position starts in January 2027, with 30 hours per week and a salary of $86,601 to $124,725 per year plus superannuation.

Key responsibilities

• Create a nurturing, learner-centred learning environment that is supportive, cooperative and aligned with curriculum policies and practices
• Develop and implement quality curriculum programs and pedagogy, evaluate their effectiveness, assess and report on student progress and learning outcomes to students, parents and the community
• Work with the leadership team and other staff to contribute to the school's professional life and foster a positive school culture
• Engage proactively in professional learning to improve student outcomes
• Build positive pastoral relationships with students and support their spiritual and moral development
• Ensure the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching

Required profile

• Relevant contemporary skills and experience, including creating a supportive, learner-focused classroom aligned with the Australian Curriculum
• Expertise in designing and delivering curriculum programs in line with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
• Commitment to working with colleagues, students and parents/carers to achieve the best outcomes for students
• Passion for supporting students' spiritual and moral development
• Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
• Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers
• Candidates do not need to be Catholic
