Search Engine Optimisation Specialist

About the role

The Search Engine Optimisation Specialist will shape how prospective students, researchers, partners and the wider community discover the University of Queensland online. Working across one of Australia’s largest web ecosystems, you will use technical SEO expertise to improve search visibility, enhance digital experiences and support emerging AI‑powered discovery platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical SEO audits and implement recommendations on crawl optimisation, indexation, site architecture and Core Web Vitals.
• Provide expert SEO input into web design, CMS and architecture decisions, including structured data and schema markup.
• Conduct keyword research and on‑page optimisation to boost organic rankings and click‑through rates.
• Act as a trusted SEO advisor to faculties and professional units, translating complex technical insights into clear, actionable guidance.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of hands‑on SEO experience in a professional or agency environment.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work collaboratively across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Relevant degree in Marketing, Multimedia, Communication or related field, or equivalent professional certifications.
