Scientific Officer - Contract Testing Laboratory

About the role

Eurofins BioPharma Product Testing Australia / New Zealand operates an ultra-modern contract-testing laboratory in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, accredited with the TGA and APVMA. Its high-tech facilities use analytical equipment mainly for the pharmaceutical, veterinary and bioanalytical sectors. The laboratory seeks a Scientific Officer with sound organisational skills for an immediate start, in a fast-paced, friendly environment.

Key responsibilities

• Sample receipt and logging samples into eLIMS
• Liaison with clients and lab staff
• Review and registration of incoming chemicals and materials
• Maintenance and calibration of facility and equipment
• Cleaning and other QC laboratory support, including disposal of completed samples
• Accurate recording of results, activities and deviations throughout analysis

Required profile

• TAFE certificate in Chemistry, Analytical Science or a related discipline (essential)
• Demonstrable experience in a fast-paced industry environment
• Ability to multitask and work within a team with minimal supervision to tight deadlines
• Strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills
• Eligibility to work in Australia with current work rights or an appropriate visa

Required skills

• Familiarity with GMP
• Experience with LIMS and other software packages
• Small equipment calibration (balances, pipettes) highly regarded
