School Learning Officer (Casual Pool)

About the role

St Joseph's School Atherton, a co-educational Catholic primary school in the Atherton Tablelands of Far North Queensland, is looking for people to join its casual employment pool. Officers are called upon as required to cover periods of leave and provide student support. The position is term-time, fixed-term, at 16 hours per week, from 23 January 2027 to 21 January 2028.

Key responsibilities

• Assist student learning individually or in groups, evaluating and assessing learning needs under the supervision of an academic staff member.
• Carry out liaison between the school, the student and the student's family within routines and procedures.
• Assist teachers in preparing, implementing and supervising learning programs under direct and/or routine supervision.
• Maintain appropriate behaviour when engaging with children and support students with their physical needs.

Required profile

• A Working with Children Blue Card.
• Full support for the ethos of Catholic Education.

• Pay of $34.17 to $35.62 gross per hour (SOF Level 3).
