SAP FI-AP Lead Consultant (12-Month Contract)

About the role

A major enterprise transformation program in Brisbane is looking for an experienced SAP Accounts Payable SME / Solution Architect to act as Principal Advisor on Platform Design and Delivery. Working in a large-scale SAP S/4HANA environment, the role provides design leadership, architecture assurance and functional expertise across Accounts Payable and Procure-to-Pay processes, influencing strategic technology decisions and partnering with senior stakeholders. It is advertised as a 12-month contract.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the design authority for SAP Accounts Payable solutions.
• Provide architecture oversight and design assurance for SAP S/4HANA finance capabilities.
• Review, challenge and validate solution designs produced by delivery partners and system integrators.
• Ensure integration between SAP and associated platforms such as invoice management and procurement solutions.
• Drive best practice across AP, invoice processing, approval workflows and vendor management.
• Support solution governance, risk management, security and compliance.
• Work with business, architecture, delivery and vendor teams, and contribute to roadmap planning and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Senior SAP professional with functional expertise, architecture capability and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Extensive experience in SAP Finance, especially Accounts Payable (FI-AP).
• Proven experience delivering or supporting SAP S/4HANA transformation programs.
• Experience reviewing and assuring solution designs from implementation partners.
• Experience at Lead Consultant, Architect, Principal Consultant or Design Authority level.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and invoice management processes.
• Experience with OpenText Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) or similar AP automation solutions.
• Exposure to SAP Ariba, SAP Business Network or procurement platforms.
• Strong communication skills to influence technical and business stakeholders.
• Desirable: SAP Ariba, SAP Fiori, Kofax AP Agility, LeanIX, Signavio, Azure DevOps, and large-scale enterprise or resources-sector transformation experience.
