About the role
HammondCare, an independent Christian charity that supports people to stay in their homes, is looking for a kind-hearted volunteer to visit an elderly lady who has been feeling lonely. The volunteer speaks a little Russian and helps the client reconnect with her language, culture and memories. This is part of the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme, funded by the Australian Government.
Key responsibilities
- Visit the client once a week or every two weeks, depending on availability.
- Have a relaxed conversation, share stories or simply spend time together.
- Keep visits to about one hour, between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Sunday.
Required profile
- 18 years or older.
- National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
- Working with Vulnerable People check.
