Roadside Maintenance Team Operator

About the role

Warren Shire Council is looking for a full-time Roadside Maintenance Team Operator to join a small team of two to three people. The team's main duty is maintaining the Council's sealed and unsealed road network.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the Council's sealed and unsealed road network
• Road verge slashing
• Establishment of road and roadside traffic facilities
• Maintenance and cleaning of roads and roadside facilities
• Culvert repairs and replacement
• Bridge repairs

Required profile

• General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
• Class HR driver's licence, or willingness to obtain one within 6 months
• Ability to undertake extensive overtime and to work under the Extended Flexible Working Hours agreement for road work teams
• Pre-employment medical assessment required before confirmation of employment

Desirable

• First Aid Certificate
• Plant operation training
• Traffic controller certificate
• Experience implementing work zone traffic management plans

What we offer

• Salary of $1118.30 to $1297.23 per week plus allowances
• 12% superannuation
• Flexitime with a 38-hour paid week
• Leave provisions as per the Local Government (State) Award
