Return to Work Coordinator

About the role

Altius Group, a provider of rehabilitation and wellbeing services across Australia, is hiring a Return to Work (RTW) Coordinator in Adelaide. The role supports injured workers through their recovery and return to work journey while partnering with employers to create positive outcomes for both workers and businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate early intervention after an initial notification or referral and support workers through their recovery and return to work journey
• Partner with employers to identify suitable duties and develop graded return to work plans in line with medical recommendations
• Prepare, monitor and review recovery at work plans, and liaise with treating practitioners, employers, insurers and other stakeholders
• Implement and maintain workplace return to work programs and attend case conferences
• Identify barriers to recovery and develop strategies to overcome them
• Educate employers on their legislative and compliance responsibilities and contribute to improving policies, processes and systems
• Manage wage reimbursement processes, billing, reporting and related administration

Required profile

• A Return to Work Coordinator certification or similar qualification
• At least six months' experience in workplace rehabilitation, return to work coordination or a related field; one to two years or more highly regarded
• Experience as a Rehabilitation Consultant or in a similar role is particularly valuable
• An understanding of injury management principles and return to work practices

Required skills

• Knowledge of workers compensation legislation and regulations (highly regarded but not essential)
• Stakeholder engagement, influencing and negotiation skills
• Strategic, solutions-focused approach, attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities, work autonomously and contribute to a collaborative team
