Resident Field Service Technician

About the role

Komatsu Australia is looking for a Resident Field Service Technician to support customers across the Canberra region. You will be the go-to expert keeping some of Australia's hardest-working machines up and running, working with the backing of one of the world's leading equipment manufacturers. The role is based in Canberra, NSW, on day shifts Monday to Friday (7:30am to 4pm) with weekend overtime.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, service and repair Komatsu equipment.
• Respond to breakdowns and carry out planned maintenance.
• Use advanced diagnostics to solve mechanical and electrical faults.
• Build strong customer relationships through exceptional service.
• Complete service reports and documentation.
• Work safely while delivering quality workmanship.

Required profile

• Mobile Plant Mechanic Trade Certificate (Cert 3 Mobile Plant) complemented by a mechanical fitter qualification (HD Mechanic/Fitter).
• OEM experience, preferably with Komatsu equipment, and field service exposure including breakdowns and diagnostics, highly regarded in construction and mining.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Ability to follow job scope and critical path, work unsupervised and a safety-focused mindset.

Required skills

• Auto electrical experience, qualifications and diagnostic skills highly regarded.
• Working at heights qualification is a plus but not crucial.
• Good understanding of computer systems and Microsoft Office.
