Reservations Consultant - River Cruises

About the role

A Reservations Consultant assists guests and travel agents with making bookings for river cruise services. The role covers handling inquiries, processing bookings, managing existing reservations and providing excellent customer service. It is based on the PS Australian Star and starts in June 2025.

Key responsibilities

• Handle inquiries from guests and travel agents about availability, pricing, itineraries and special requests, and explain the cruise options so they can make informed decisions.
• Process bookings and record them accurately, and manage changes, cancellations and special requests.
• Coordinate with other departments to meet guests' preferences and resolve issues such as overbookings or scheduling conflicts.
• Maintain accurate booking records, prepare reports on booking activity and occupancy rates, and help keep the booking system data accurate.
• Upsell additional services and promote special offers and packages.
• Work with sales, marketing and operations teams to align booking strategies with business goals.

Required profile

• Previous experience in reservations, customer service or sales is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to handle several bookings at once.
• Ability to solve problems and resolve conflicts, and to spot sales opportunities.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with booking systems and other software applications.
• Customer service and sales acumen.
