Relieving Registrar 2027 (Rehabilitation, Aged Care, Palliative Care)

About the role

The Rehabilitation, Aged Care, Persistent Pain and Palliative Care service at Peninsula Health is offering a relieving registrar position in 2027. The successful registrar covers planned leave across subacute departments: Rehabilitation (Golf Links Road, Peninsula University Hospital, Rosebud Hillview unit), Aged Care (Acute Care of the Elderly and Orthogeriatrics at Peninsula University Hospital, The Mornington Centre), Palliative Care (Peninsula University Hospital and Golf Links Road) and the At Home Subacute program. Applications are open to full-time and part-time candidates; the position is classified as Registrar Year 1 to Registrar Year 6 (HM25-HM30).

Key responsibilities

• Cover planned leave across the listed subacute departments while working as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team.
• Take part in weekly consultant teaching, fortnightly journal club, weekly grand rounds, monthly radiology meetings and monthly education sessions.
• Occasionally work weekend shifts at The Mornington Centre or Golf Links Road, with a minimum 3-day break per fortnight under the enterprise bargaining agreement.

Required profile

• AHPRA registration as a Medical Practitioner.
• At least 2 years of postgraduate training experience as a Medical Practitioner.
• Eligible to join the RACP training program.
• Sound clinical knowledge, skills and experience in contemporary, evidence-based medicine.

Required skills

• Completion of Clover clinical systems training at the start of employment.
• Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.

The position is advertised until 3 November 2026. Salary is set according to the Victorian public health sector enterprise agreement and sub-grading depends on years of experience.
