Reliability Engineer

About the role

Liontown Limited is expanding its Kathleen Valley Lithium Operation in Western Australia and needs a Reliability Engineer to support the production ramp‑up. This permanent, full‑time position will be based onsite on an 8:6 roster, providing technical expertise for the design, modification and optimisation of mechanical assets across the mine.

Key responsibilities

• Improve asset reliability and availability by analysing performance data and implementing corrective actions.
• Lead defect elimination programmes, root‑cause analysis and sustainable fixes to prevent repeat failures.
• Implement condition monitoring and predictive maintenance strategies for early fault detection.
• Optimise maintenance strategies and spare parts inventories based on criticality, risk and cost.
• Produce data‑driven reports, trend analyses and insights to support continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, planning and external partners to align reliability initiatives with site priorities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Electrical Engineering desirable).
• Professional engineering recognition (RPEng, CPEng) preferred.
• Experience in asset reliability, maintenance engineering or performance improvement within mining or other asset‑intensive environments.
• Proven ability to apply reliability engineering principles to increase equipment availability.
• C Class driver’s licence.
