Reliability Engineer

About the role

Daunia Mine is seeking a Reliability Engineer to improve the performance of its mobile equipment fleet, including excavators, dozers and shovels. The role provides mechanical engineering support to the Planning & Reliability Department and drives analytical initiatives to eliminate defects.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily investigations and weekly reporting of equipment downtime events.
• Diagnose root causes and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Collect and maintain production loss data, focusing on downtime.
• Provide advice and update condition monitoring reports with corrective recommendations.
• Collaborate with OEMs to adopt technologies and practices that boost equipment reliability.
• Plan proactively to anticipate hazards and reduce high‑risk tasks.
• Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of reliability engineering experience in mining, mineral processing or heavy industry.
• Experience with Caterpillar 6040/6060 & Hitachi 3600/5600 excavators and Caterpillar 7495 electric rope shovels (preferred).
• Proven track record supporting maintenance and reliability of field plant equipment.
• Working knowledge of maintenance planning and CMMS (SAP 4Hana preferred).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Project, PowerPoint and Word.
