Rehabilitation Consultant (Physiotherapy or Exercise Physiology)

About the role

IPAR, a national occupational rehabilitation provider within the MedHealth network, is seeking Physiotherapy or Exercise Physiology professionals to join its team in Tamworth, NSW. As a Rehabilitation Consultant you will deliver occupational rehabilitation services to clients with physical and psychological conditions, helping them achieve sustainable return-to-health and return-to-work outcomes. The role covers a wide range of schemes, including Workers Compensation, CTP, Life Insurance, Comcare, Department of Veterans' Affairs and employer-funded programs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a manageable caseload with support from Rehabilitation Assistants
• Apply clinical expertise to improve return-to-work outcomes
• Partner with employers and employees to deliver injury prevention and workplace education programs
• Collaborate with injured workers, employers, insurers and healthcare professionals
• Conduct clinical and vocational assessments: initial assessments, workplace assessments, functional capacity assessments, Activity Daily Assessments (ADL) and vocational assessments
• Identify barriers and design practical solutions to support recovery and return to work

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy or Exercise Physiology
• General registration with AHPRA, or accredited Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) accreditation aligned with SIRA requirements for workplace and functional capacity assessments
• Previous experience in occupational rehabilitation is desirable but not essential; new graduates and early-career professionals are welcomed
• Current NSW driver's licence and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle
