Rehabilitation Consultant - Occupational Therapist

About the role

IPAR, a national occupational rehabilitation provider part of the MedHealth network, is looking for Occupational Therapists to join its Central Coast NSW team as Rehabilitation Consultants. The role offers flexibility and autonomy within a multidisciplinary team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Psychologists and Rehabilitation Counsellors. It covers a wide range of schemes such as Workers Compensation, CTP, Life Insurance, Comcare, Department of Veterans' Affairs and employer-funded programs, helping clients with physical and psychological conditions achieve sustainable return-to-health and return-to-work outcomes. New graduates and early-career professionals are welcomed.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a manageable caseload with support from Rehabilitation Assistants
• Apply clinical expertise to improve return-to-work outcomes
• Partner with employers and employees to deliver injury prevention and workplace education programs
• Collaborate with injured workers, employers, insurers and healthcare professionals
• Conduct clinical and vocational assessments: initial assessments, workplace assessments, functional capacity assessments, Activity Daily Assessments (ADL) and vocational assessments
• Identify barriers and design practical solutions to support recovery and return to work

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
• General registration with AHPRA
• Previous experience in occupational rehabilitation is highly regarded
• Good communication, compassion, empathy and time management skills
• Current NSW driver's licence and access to a car with comprehensive insurance
