Regulation Manager - Utilities Regulation

About the role

Deloitte is recruiting a Manager for its Utilities Regulation team in Darwin, or for someone willing to relocate permanently to Darwin. The role works on major regulatory, pricing and market reform initiatives in the Northern Territory and nationally across energy, water and gas, helping clients respond to changing regulatory frameworks, pricing challenges and investment decisions. The position is open to candidates based in Darwin or willing to relocate.

Key responsibilities

• Manage project delivery, coordinate projects and manage competing priorities so they stay on track
• Meet with clients to discuss emerging issues, facilitate workshops and present findings to senior stakeholders
• Gather and analyse information, undertake research, test ideas and develop practical advice on complex regulatory and commercial challenges
• Build client relationships and mentor junior team members
• Work across clients nationally and, depending on the project, split time between the Darwin office, client sites and national teams, with possible interstate travel

Required profile

• Experience in the regulated utilities sector (energy, water or gas) or with an economic regulator or in a regulated industry
• Qualification in commerce, economics, law, public policy or a related discipline
• Willingness to be based in Darwin and flexibility to travel interstate as required
