Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 2

About the role

Mercy Health is recruiting a Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 2 for its mental health inpatient unit at Werribee Mercy Hospital (Clare Moore Building). The unit has 54 beds, divided into one Intensive Care Area and three Recovery Care Areas, and cares for adults aged 18 to 64. The nurse is part of a multidisciplinary team and delivers quality, consumer-focused care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of clinical interventions, with a holistic and therapeutic approach to the consumer, their family and carers.

Required profile

• A current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with postgraduate qualifications in Mental Health Nursing.
• Clinical experience and expertise in mental health nursing, with a minimum of 3 years in a mental health inpatient setting.
• Knowledge of mental health nursing models of care and the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022.
• Willingness and availability to work a rotating roster across seven days of the week, including morning, afternoon and night shifts.
• Evidence of, or progress toward, a current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
• Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccinations consistent with public health orders.
