Registered Nurse Team Leader - Supported Independent Living

About the role

A well-established NDIS-registered provider on the Sunshine Coast is recruiting, through its recruiter, a Registered Nurse Team Leader for a Supported Independent Living (SIL) home. The nurse provides direct clinical care to two participants with complex health needs while leading best-practice care delivery, developing support staff capability and helping people live safely, independently and with dignity.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and oversee individualised health supports and care plans
• Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to participants with complex needs
• Administer medications and PEG/J tube feeds according to clinical best practice
• Develop, implement and review care plans, and monitor participant health outcomes
• Support and train disability support workers
• Work with families, guardians, medical practitioners and allied health professionals
• Maintain accurate clinical records and stay compliant with NDIS Practice Standards and healthcare legislation

Required profile

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Experience in disability, community, SIL or complex care settings
• Knowledge of PEG care and medication administration, and epilepsy and seizure management
• Strong leadership, communication and critical thinking skills; calm in emergencies
• NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to obtain), Blue Card, First Aid and CPR certificate, and completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module
