Registered Nurse - Rio Tinto (Industry Medical Services)

About the role

St John WA, in partnership with Rio Tinto, provides medical personnel across Rio Tinto's sites in the Pilbara region. St John WA is looking for experienced Registered Nurses with a strong background in Emergency Department, Occupational Health Nursing or mine site/remote locations to join its casual pool, with the potential to move to a fixed-term position. The role is based in Perth and requires candidates to be present in Perth for interviews, assessments, inductions and medicals.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care, including assessments, treatment and health education, to the Rio Tinto workforce
• Conduct health screenings, provide emergency response and first aid, and work with a multidisciplinary team
• Maintain accurate medical records and take part in health promotion and training initiatives

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with current unrestricted AHPRA registration
• At least 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in emergency, remote or occupational health settings
• Comfortable with night shifts; able to work autonomously according to site medical guidelines
• Full working rights in Australia; applicants must be in Perth for onboarding steps

Required skills

• CPR certificate
• Driver's licence (C) manual
• National police clearance issued within the last three months
• Drug and Alcohol Tester Certificate (HLTPAT005)
• Advanced First Aid, ALS1 or ALS2 certificate
• Cannulation competence
• Rio Tinto induction (validity under 1 year) is highly advantageous
• Certificate III in Response and Rescue is desirable
