Registered Nurse - Permanent Part Time

About the role

Respect, the largest provider of aged care services in Regional Australia, is recruiting a Permanent Part Time Registered Nurse for its 41-bed residential aged care home, Mackellar Alkira in Gunnedah, NSW. Reporting to the Care Manager and General Manager, you will deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred care to older Australians and work with residents, families, healthcare professionals and care staff.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct resident admissions, assessments and care planning
• Develop, implement and review individualised care plans
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and records
• Complete ACFI/clinical assessments and support funding requirements
• Administer medications and oversee medication management
• Provide direct clinical care and respond to changes in resident health
• Supervise, support and mentor Enrolled Nurses and Care Assistants
• Liaise with residents, families, GPs and allied health professionals
• Promote a safe workplace and maintain infection control standards
• Take part in training, professional development and quality improvement

Required profile

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Current National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one
• Knowledge of aged care standards and residential aged care requirements
• Strong communication and clinical assessment skills
• Passion for delivering exceptional care in a collaborative team

Required skills

• Desirable: understanding of aged care accreditation processes

• Desirable: knowledge of aged care funding and regulatory requirements
