Registered Nurse – Perioperative (Pre/Post Op, Scrub, Anaesthetics, Recovery)

About the role

The North West Regional Hospital in Burnie is seeking experienced perioperative Registered Nurses to join its vibrant theatre team. You will work across pre‑operative, post‑operative, scrub, anaesthetic and recovery areas, providing high‑quality care to surgical patients.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver safe and effective nursing care throughout the surgical pathway, from admission to discharge.
• Assist surgeons and anaesthetists as a scrub nurse, ensuring sterile technique and proper instrument handling.
• Monitor patients in recovery, manage pain, and respond to any complications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, allied health professionals, and support staff.
• Participate in on‑call overnight service and flexible shift patterns between 07:00 and 22:30.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse qualification with current registration in Australia.
• Previous experience in perioperative nursing, preferably in a day‑surgery or theatre setting.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and on‑call duties.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to a supportive team culture.
