Registered Nurse - Part-Time Aged Care

About the role

Aegis Balmoral, a modern aged care facility in the Como community caring for up to 214 residents, is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse for a part-time position covering morning and afternoon shifts. The nurse delivers clinical care and support to residents, oversees care plans, administers medications, monitors health conditions and works with a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee care plans, administer medications and monitor residents' health conditions
• Conduct comprehensive clinical, social and self-care assessments, and anticipate changes in health by initiating further assessments or referrals
• Support residents and their families by addressing questions, feedback and concerns with empathy and professionalism
• Ensure care documentation is complete and that appropriate strategies are implemented
• Identify and manage clinical risk in the aged care setting
• Support, coach, monitor and mentor unregulated care workers, and provide clinical expertise to the team and the Clinical Nurse Manager

Required profile

• Genuine passion and commitment to aged care, with the ability to build trust and lead, coach, mentor and support care and lifestyle staff
• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Clinical experience and ability to manage risk in aged care
• Sound understanding of Aged Care Quality Standards and quality management systems
• Full Australian working rights and ability to pass a national police clearance
