Therapy Assistant

About the role

Aegis Balmoral, a modern aged care facility in the Como community caring for up to 214 residents, is looking for a permanent part-time Therapy Assistant. You will help enrich the lives of elderly residents and encourage their independence and wellbeing, working alongside physiotherapists and occupational therapists.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging mobility and exercise programs for residents under the guidance of physiotherapists.
• Support recreational and therapeutic activities under the direction of the occupational therapist.
• Help plan and organise therapy programs and lead a range of therapy-based activities.
• Maintain accurate, high-quality documentation in line with relevant standards and guidelines.
• Accompany resident groups on outings.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or higher/equivalent; a Certificate IV or equivalent with experience is desirable but not essential.
• Experience in a similar role such as Occupational Therapist Assistant or Physiotherapist Assistant preferred.
• Full Australian working rights and ability to pass a national police clearance.
