Registered Nurse - Operating Theatre (4-week Contract)

About the role

Stanthorpe Hospital is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join its Operating Theatre team on a four-week contract from 7 December 2026 to 3 January 2027. It is an on-call position working up to 80 hours per fortnight in a dynamic surgical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Work across scrub, scout, anaesthetics, recovery and day surgery roles
• Provide anaesthetic support and work in a busy operating theatre

Required profile

• Proven theatre nursing experience, including scrub and scout duties
• Demonstrated competence in cannulation and anaesthetic support
• Experience in recovery, post-anaesthetic care and day surgery or endoscopy settings
• Flexibility to work on-call and adapt to the demands of a busy theatre
• Preferred: current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia
• Preferred: formal theatre nursing qualification or equivalent post-registration training; additional perioperative or critical care certifications are advantageous
