Registered Nurse - Operating Suite

About the role

St Vincent's Private Hospital Launceston is expanding its Theatre Services and is looking for an experienced perioperative Registered Nurse. The role suits someone with demonstrated skills in instrument and circulating nursing and PACU; orthopaedic surgery experience is highly desirable. Positions are available on a casual or permanent basis.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centred care in a safe, supportive perioperative environment
• Provide skilled nursing care in the Operating Theatre, including instrument and circulating roles
• Assess, monitor and care for patients in the Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU)
• Maintain effective communication with patients, carers and the multidisciplinary team
• Contribute to clinical excellence, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Support a collaborative team culture focused on the best patient outcomes

Required profile

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Recent experience in a perioperative setting
• Demonstrated experience in instrument and circulating nursing roles
• Experience in a PACU
• Orthopaedic theatre experience highly desirable
