Registered Nurse - Medical G2 Ward, Mackay Base Hospital

About the role

Mackay Base Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Medical G2 Ward on a contract from 11 November 2026 to 17 January 2027 (about 10 weeks). The 28-bed adult medical unit serves patients across oncology, cardiology, respiratory, renal and acute general medicine. The roster consists of 8-hour shifts with a maximum of 80 hours per fortnight, and early start is possible from 9 November if you hold current ieMR training.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of clinical nursing experience
• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Ability to work a rotating roster of 8-hour shifts as per the ward schedule
• Professional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification
• Knowledge of ieMR (integrated electronic Medical Record) systems, particularly if trained within the last six months
• Previous experience in Queensland Health or Mackay Health and Hospital Service

Required skills

• Good computer literacy and confidence using electronic systems
• Current ieMR training (preferred)
