Registered Nurse - Home Care

About the role

Calvary Home Care in Adelaide is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join its growing clinical community team. As a member of the team, you will provide complex care to high-acuity clients from short-term and long-term programs, working both independently and as part of a team. Shifts are offered in AM/PM, and part-time and full-time positions are available.

Key responsibilities

• Administer IV, IM, SC and PO medications
• Care of IV cannulation, PICC lines and infusaports
• Simple and complex wound care, including compression and NPWT
• Drain care and catheter care (male, female and supra pubic), including education
• Complete initial assessments, develop and monitor care plans, and deliver education to clients and families
• Accurate and timely documentation in client records
• Communicate appropriately within the clinical team and escalate clinical deterioration

Required profile

• Current AHPRA registration as a nurse
• Minimum 1 year of acute experience
• NDIS clearance (or willingness to obtain one)
• Police clearance within 6 months (or willingness to obtain one)
• Own car with a full driver's licence, reliable and fully insured; a KM allowance is provided
• Understanding of the community nursing sector (Home Care Packages, Department of Veterans Affairs and Commonwealth Home Support Program) is considered favourably

• CPR and manual handling competency
• Wound care, IV cannulation and medication administration
