Registered Nurse – Haemodialysis (Nephrology)

About the role

Fresenius Medical Care is recruiting a Registered Nurse (Level 1, Grade 2) for its dialysis clinic in Stirling. The nurse delivers patient-centred care in the haemodialysis setting in line with organisational values and the APHRA standards of practice, and supports the management team through participation in clinical, management, education and quality activities.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in designing, planning, delivering and evaluating patient care in the haemodialysis setting.
• Protect patient rights by following privacy principles and providing a high standard of care.
• Take responsibility for own professional development and educate colleagues, patients and visitors.
• Promote a safe, secure and healthy workplace and a comfortable environment for patients and visitors under the workplace health and safety policy.
• Take part in quality improvement by reporting incidents, hazards and opportunities for improvement.
• Complete clinical and mandatory competencies annually and perform defined management functions when required.
• Maintain accurate patient information in medical records, including the Therapy Data Management System (TDMS), and follow confidentiality and privacy policies.

Required profile

• Registered general nurse with AHPRA and a current practising certificate.
• Demonstrated clinical competence and expertise (or working towards it) in nephrology nursing.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, able to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Organisational, decision-making and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be self-directed.
• Ability to educate staff and patients and knowledge of nursing, nephrology and related professional issues.

• Nephrology nursing theory and practice.
• Computer literacy.
