Registered Nurse (Grade 5) - Nine Week Contract

About the role

Collinsville Multipurpose Health Service is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (Grade 5) for a nine-week contract from 9 November 2026 to 10 January 2027. The role is based in rural Queensland and offers the chance to work across acute care, aged care and emergency services in a dynamic, small-team environment.

Key responsibilities

• Work across acute, aged care and emergency services in a rural multipurpose setting
• Rotate 8- and 12-hour shifts across a 15-bed ward and a 24-hour Emergency Department
• Work a maximum of 80 hours per fortnight
• Lead clinically, including working as the sole registered nurse on shift

Required profile

• Solid rural nursing and emergency department experience
• Demonstrated triage skills and ability to lead clinically
• Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
• Aged Care National Police Certificate
• Preferred: current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Preferred: paediatric life support certification or imminent birthing experience, and previous experience with QLD Health, Mackay HHS or other Australian health services

Required skills

• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems (iMR, FirstNet, PowerChart or HBCIS)
• Interstate experience is welcome with evidence of recognised prior learning
