Registered Nurse - General Practice

About the role

Bushland Beach Medical Centre, a positive and successful medical practice focused on quality improvement and clinical care, is looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and professional Registered Nurse to join its growing team on a full-time basis. The nurse will provide high-quality patient care, be passionate about GP clinical care and committed to patient education.

Key responsibilities

• Patient triage and management
• Administer immunisations and other injections
• Perform ECGs, spirometry and ear syringing
• Conduct wound management procedures and assist GPs during minor surgeries
• Develop care plans, conduct health assessments and support patients with chronic illnesses
• Carry out infection control and sterilisation processes
• Provide patient education and support
• Support reception staff as needed

Required profile

• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Preferably at least 2 years of nursing experience in general practice
• Previous experience in general practice
• Knowledge of childhood and adult immunisations
• Experience in chronic disease management
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to work independently and as part of a team

Required skills

• Current CPR certificate
• Multi-tasking and managing workflow in a treatment room
• Computer skills; experience with Best Practice is highly desirable
