Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

About the role

The Emergency Department at Launceston General Hospital is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred care in a fast‑paced environment. You will join a multidisciplinary team that provides rapid assessment, stabilisation and treatment for a wide range of acute conditions, from trauma to cardiac and paediatric emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care to critically ill or injured patients, including trauma, cardiac and paediatric emergencies.
• Assess and manage deteriorating patients with timely interventions.
• Collaborate with physicians, paramedics and support staff to ensure comprehensive critical‑care management.
• Handle multiple patient presentations simultaneously in a dynamic, unpredictable setting.
• Participate in ongoing education, training and quality‑improvement activities.

Required profile

• Current registration as a Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure in an emergency department.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
