Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

About the role

The Emergency Department at Mount Gambier and Districts Health Service is seeking Registered Nurses for full‑time and part‑time shifts, including evenings, nights and weekends. You will join a 24/7 team delivering high‑quality, compassionate emergency care to the Limestone Coast community.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients presenting with urgent medical conditions.
• Operate within the short‑stay unit, assessing and stabilising patients.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient flow.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to hospital protocols.
• Participate in shift handovers and contribute to continuous quality improvement.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
• Commitment to a compassionate, person‑centred approach.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
