Registered Nurse – Day Procedure & Perioperative

About the role

Benalla Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide safe, person‑centred care across its Day Procedure and Peri‑operative units. This 12‑month fixed‑term position (July 2026 – July 2027) covers parental leave and involves working in the operating theatre, anaesthetic area, instrument room, circulating role and the Post‑Anaesthetic Care Unit.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver evidence‑based nursing care throughout the peri‑operative pathway.
• Perform duties as an Anaesthetic Nurse, Instrument Nurse, Circulating Nurse and PACU Nurse as required.
• Prepare and maintain a sterile environment and surgical instruments.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and recovery status post‑surgery.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required profile

• Current registration as a Nurse in Australia.
• Experience in peri‑operative or day‑procedure settings is preferred.
• Ability to work flexibly across multiple nursing roles within the surgical suite.
• Commitment to person‑centred, safety‑focused care.
