Registered Nurse – Critical Care (ICU/CCU)

About the role

Macquarie University Health is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join its expanding 20‑bed ICU/CCU. The role involves delivering expert, evidence‑based care to critically ill adults across a wide range of surgical and medical specialties in a high‑acuity, academically integrated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical care to critically ill patients, managing complex presentations and high‑risk procedures.
• Mentor junior nursing staff and students, fostering an inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, patient‑centred care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research activities, and ongoing professional development.

Required profile

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum 2 years experience in an adult Intensive Care or Coronary Care setting.
• Ability to work autonomously at an advanced clinical level and demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic medical record systems.
• Competence in Microsoft Word and Excel.
