About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Children’s Health Queensland Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) provides safe, compassionate clinical care to children, young people and families. The role involves collaborative practice with a multidisciplinary team to achieve best‑practice outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct, person‑centred nursing care across the adolescent and child inpatient units.
• Support system processes, contribute to education, research and professional leadership initiatives.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse qualification meeting Queensland Health standards (Nurse Grade 5).
• Commitment to the CHQ values, Leadership Excellence Framework and continuous professional development.

Required skills

• Effective assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and engage in reflective practice.
