Registered Nurse – Aged Care

About the role

Mercy Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for its aged care facility in Ballarat. The position is casual, with morning, afternoon and night shifts available, and pays between $50 and $65 per hour. Applicants should upload a resume, cover letter and all relevant qualifications.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of elderly patients and develop and implement individualised care plans.
• Administer medications accurately, monitor for adverse reactions and keep detailed records in line with healthcare regulations.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians and allied health professionals, to coordinate patient care.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients' families.
• Maintain accurate, timely patient records to meet aged care standards and regulations.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies, stabilising patients and initiating appropriate interventions.

Required profile

• Resilient, compassionate and committed to patient-centred care.
• Current Police Record Check.
• Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccinations consistent with public health orders.
