Refrigeration Mechanic (FIFO 2:2) – Remote Village Operations

About the role

Sodexo is looking for experienced Refrigeration Mechanics to join its Facilities Maintenance team supporting remote village and mining operations in Queensland. The role covers maintaining, servicing and repairing commercial and domestic air-conditioning and refrigeration systems so that village residents live in safe, comfortable and reliable environments. It is a full-time position on a 2:2 FIFO roster (two weeks on-site, two weeks at home).

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, servicing and repairs on commercial and domestic HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Diagnose faults and complete breakdown repairs on air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
• Inspect equipment and ensure compliance with relevant safety and operational standards.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and completed work orders.
• Deliver excellent service while keeping safety and teamwork at the core.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration or equivalent trade qualification.
• Current Refrigerant Handling Licence (Arctick).
• QBCC licence or ability to obtain one.
• Current CPR/LVR certification and a current Restricted Electrical Licence.
• Australian citizenship or full Australian working rights, and a current Australian driver's licence.
• Previous facility maintenance experience in domestic and commercial sectors.
• Willingness to obtain a National Police Check, pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening, and travel safely to and from work.
• Physical fitness for long shifts (up to 12 hours) and ability to work in remote environments in extreme weather.
• Local to the advertised position or willing to relocate at own expense.

Required skills

• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting across HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Ability to work autonomously and within a team, with a customer-focused attitude.
