React and React Native Developer

About the role

PRA is recruiting a React and React Native developer for a national retail brand's digital team, which builds customer-facing mobile and web experiences. The contract starts in early November 2026 and runs until the end of March 2027, with strong potential to extend as further projects begin in 2027. The role suits an experienced, self-motivated engineer who works well with well-defined requirements and manages their own workload.

Key responsibilities

• Build, enhance, test and ship customer-facing features across mobile and web apps using React Native and React.
• Own your work from implementation and testing through deployment.
• Clarify requirements and raise questions early to identify dependencies and avoid blockers.
• Produce clean, maintainable code and take part in thoughtful code reviews.
• Use AI coding tools such as Cursor regularly, applying sound engineering judgment to quality, security and reliability.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders and share ideas that help the team deliver.

Required profile

• Approximately five years of commercial software engineering experience, including hands-on work with React Native for mobile and React for web.
• Regular, practical use of Cursor or a comparable AI coding assistant in a current or recent role.
• Clear written and spoken communication, comfort asking questions and working independently within a team.
• Experience supporting a high-traffic consumer app, especially in retail, loyalty or personalisation, is an advantage.

Required skills

• React Native and React
• TypeScript (advantageous)
• Backend exposure, ideally with Node.js
• Familiarity with Azure is beneficial; strong AWS experience is also encouraged
