Ranger

About the role

The Shire of East Pilbara, the largest local government authority in Western Australia, is recruiting a Ranger for Newman on a permanent, full-time basis. The role works on a 7-day rotating roster that includes on-call requirements for after-hours and alternating weekends.

Required profile

• Regulatory Officer Compliance Skills (ROCs) I and II completed
• Fire Control Officer course completed or able to complete
• Firearms handling and awareness certification (or able to obtain)
• Snake handling and awareness certification or qualification (or able to obtain)
• First Aid certificate or higher
• Professional integrity in applying Acts, Regulations and Standards, and adherence to confidentiality provisions
• Well-developed customer service skills and the ability to positively influence community compliance
• Good written and oral communication, self-management and time management skills

What we offer

• Annual salary of AUD $115,755 to $125,151
