Rail Infrastructure Superintendent

About the role

Join Aurizon’s high‑performing team in Central Queensland, where safety and people are valued above all. As a Superintendent you will lead a multi‑skilled rail infrastructure team, driving capital renewals, planned maintenance and continuous improvement across the Central Queensland Coal Network.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and implement capital renewal, planned maintenance and inspections for rail track assets.
• Manage incident response for derailments and unplanned maintenance events.
• Prepare, monitor and control budgets, including detailed cost estimates and cost‑capture measures.
• Develop and embed a sustainable, inter‑dependent safety culture through visible leadership and coaching.

Required profile

• Respected people leader with extensive experience in rail infrastructure and track assets.
• Proven ability to lead and develop multi‑skilled teams and manage incident situations.
• Strong financial, cost‑control and budgeting expertise.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, negotiation and consultation skills.
