Quality Manager – Rail and Station Infrastructure

About the role

Lead quality management across integrated station construction in Sydney, working closely with design, engineering and site leaders to ensure effective quality plans, ISO 9001 compliance and continuous improvement of assurance processes.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate non‑conformances, identify root causes and drive corrective actions to resolution.
• Develop and maintain quality plans, inspection and test plans, and checklists.
• Audit consultants, suppliers and subcontractors against specifications and certification obligations.
• Review construction risks with site teams and support inspection hold‑point releases.
• Prepare monthly quality reports and monitor assurance performance indicators.
• Coach project colleagues and collaborate with the supply chain to resolve documentation and quality issues.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualifications in civil engineering, construction management, quality management or a related discipline.
• Substantial experience as a Quality Manager or senior quality lead on major infrastructure projects.
• Underground station, rail, station excavation or tunnelling experience is highly regarded.
• Detailed understanding of ISO 9001, inspection plans, checklists and hold‑point processes.
• Experience with internal and external audits, risk reviews and non‑conformance registers.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills, including coaching and client engagement.
