Purchasing Specialist (Procurement) - Henderson

About the role

Babcock is looking for a Purchasing Officer to join its Henderson, WA team. The role suits someone wanting to build a long-term career in Procurement within the Defence industry, with a 6-month fixed-term contract that can be extended. You will be supported by experienced subject matter experts and gain exposure to the full procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, supplier engagement, quotation management and contract compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, negotiate and submit Request for Quote (RFQ) packages
• Support procurement and purchasing activities across the business
• Help identify and manage procurement-related risks and mitigate them
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Required profile

• Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance
• Background in purchasing, procurement, project administration or contract administration
• Current driver's licence
• Interest in joining CIPS or ASCI is highly regarded

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems (IFS experience highly regarded)
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Attention to detail, organisation and stakeholder relationship building
