Purchasing Officer – Procurement & Sales Support

About the role

We are seeking a Purchasing Officer to own the end‑to‑end procurement process at our North Coogee facility. You will manage purchase orders from placement through delivery, liaising with both local and international suppliers to ensure smooth supply.

Key responsibilities

• Raise and manage purchase orders with local and international suppliers.
• Select suppliers based on price, lead time, quality and availability.
• Coordinate with international suppliers on order placement, shipping and documentation.
• Monitor purchase orders and proactively manage delivery issues before they escalate.
• Liaise with freight forwarders for inbound shipment updates and revised schedules.
• Keep relevant divisions informed of ETAs and any significant delays.
• Obtain customer purchase orders and confirm orders are correctly entered in the system.
• Support the team with general admin tasks and guide less experienced team members.
• Assist with sales order processing, ensuring accurate entry of customer purchase orders.
• Handle expediting requests and follow up on overdue orders.

Required profile

• Experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain administration.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills.
• Clear communicator confident dealing with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Good at prioritising and staying on top of tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Reliable team player who can also manage own workload.

Required skills

• Comfortable using ERP systems.
