Purchasing Officer – Passenger and Commercial Vehicles

About the role

The Purchasing Officer coordinates the ordering, procurement and delivery of passenger and commercial vehicles, making sure they arrive within agreed service standards and timeframes. The role works closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers and NSW Government clients to deliver a high-quality customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Respond quickly and accurately to new vehicle orders and enquiries
• Update vehicle delivery movements so processing stays on track
• Coordinate asset delivery according to vehicle orders and client requirements
• Arrange settlement payments to suppliers, keeping information and documents accurate and in line with SG Fleet requirements
• Contribute to team objectives and build positive working relationships across internal departments
• Carry out administrative work that supports team efficiency

Required profile

• Previous experience in a customer service role
• Business acumen and awareness of commercial matters
• Strong organisation and prioritisation skills, meeting deadlines and reporting progress regularly
• Effective verbal and written communication, with good listening and probing skills
• Ability to analyse information critically and resolve problems effectively and in a timely way
• High attention to detail

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
