Purchasing Officer

About the role

MinRes is seeking a dedicated Purchasing Officer to support its growing division. The role focuses on cost‑effective, timely procurement of goods and services while ensuring compliance with internal standards. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive quality and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Efficiently procure goods and services to achieve value‑driven outcomes.
• Maintain accurate purchase order data and adhere to approved standards.
• Prevent procurement of banned or unauthorised items.
• Address system queries and educate end users as needed.
• Ensure governance and compliance across all procurement activities.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
• Prioritise workload to meet business needs effectively.
• Escalate system functionality issues to management in a timely manner.
• Participate in improvement projects under leadership guidance.
• Support a collaborative culture and provide after‑hours assistance for urgent requirements.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience as a Purchasing Officer, preferably in the resources industry.
• Experience with forward purchase agreements.
• Familiarity with the Coupa P2P system (preferred).
• Strong time‑management and communication abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure both independently and within a team.
• Agile mindset, ready to seize opportunities and innovate.
• Collaborative approach that values diversity.
