Project or Senior Resource Geologist

About the role

Bellevue Gold operates its 100% owned high-grade Bellevue gold mine in Western Australia, with underground mining since late 2020 and exploration ongoing to expand the resource. The role sits in the Resource Geology team, working closely with the Mine Geology and site Planning teams, and focuses on advancing understanding of the Bellevue deposits through geological modelling and interpretation that feeds resource and grade control models. Depending on experience, the position is offered at Project Resource Geologist or Senior Resource Geologist level, on an 8/6 site-based roster or a hybrid Perth and site arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Drive and refine geological interpretation and modelling, including structural and lithological controls on mineralisation
• Deliver updated mineralised interpretations for Grade Control and Resource models using underground sampling, structural mapping and drilling data
• Execute Grade Control estimation in Maptek Vulan and help with the resource update workflow
• Evaluate, challenge and communicate risks, assumptions and uncertainties in geological targets and interpretations
• Carry out technical project work as directed by the Geology Leadership team
• Mentor mine geologists in geology, implicit modelling techniques and interpretation methods (expanded scope for Senior level)

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Geology (BSc or higher)
• 5+ years of operational experience in mine geology and geological modelling, with exposure to resource estimation workflows; 7+ years with proven ownership of models for Senior level
• Proven underground mining experience and understanding of drillhole reconciliation and site planning interfaces
• Ability to work autonomously, prioritise deliverables and manage technical projects to completion on time
• Strong technical writing, reporting and communication skills, with a commitment to occupational health and safety

Required skills

• Demonstrated experience with narrow-vein, Archean lode-style gold systems
• High proficiency in Seequent Leapfrog Geo for implicit modelling and structural trends
• Experience with Maptek Vulcan for block modelling and estimation is highly regarded
• Ability to review and challenge geological assumptions and model uncertainty
