Project Manager – Mining & Heavy Industry

About the role

Capgemini is seeking Project Managers at junior, intermediate and senior levels to lead projects for clients in the mining and heavy‑industry sector. You will oversee defined workstreams within larger programmes, ensuring delivery meets scope, schedule, budget and quality expectations while adhering to safety and operational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day delivery of projects or workstreams (scope, schedule, budget, quality).
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules and dependency maps.
• Coordinate delivery across client, internal and vendor teams.
• Track and mitigate risks, issues and actions, escalating when necessary.
• Prepare status reports and governance artefacts for stakeholders.
• Monitor costs, support forecasting and budget tracking.
• Engage stakeholders with clear, regular communication.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and operational standards.
• Support continuous improvement and capture lessons learned.

Required profile

• Experience in project management or coordination within structured delivery frameworks.
• Strong organisational and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Proven capability to manage risks, issues and reporting.
• Experience in safety‑critical, operational environments is preferred.
• Background in mining, resources, energy or heavy‑industry sectors is a plus.
• Familiarity with multi‑vendor or complex delivery environments.
