Project Manager – Highways

About the role

AECOM’s Sydney Highways team is delivering a diverse range of transport infrastructure projects across NSW and ANZ. The Project Manager will lead multidisciplinary teams through all phases of major highway projects, from planning and tendering to delivery and completion.

Key responsibilities

• Support delivery of major highways and transport infrastructure projects from planning through to completion.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams to achieve high‑quality technical and commercial outcomes.
• Build strong relationships with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Manage project performance across programme, commercial, safety and quality metrics.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative, high‑performing culture.

Required profile

• 8–10 years’ experience on highways, roads or major transport infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in project or design management within multidisciplinary infrastructure environments.
• Strong understanding of highways design, project delivery and stakeholder coordination.
• Experience working with major transport authorities or infrastructure clients in Australia.
• Commercial awareness and ability to manage competing priorities.
